Server specialist
 
Job overall description:
 
The job will combine specialist and technical designer
responsibilities. As a technical designer, Server specialist will
design and plan server implementations and changes. As a
specialist, he will be responsible for installation, configuration,
maintenance and change. Server specialist is responsible for all
phases of server implementation starting from collecting
requirements, designing and specifying a solution, implementation
of the solution, and continuous support of customers. The
specialist will be responsible for equipment residing in the data
center as well as in customer premises on site.
 
Responsibilities, tasks,
networking:
 
1        
Solution Design and Specification
 
Develop and apply understanding
of the different ICT server hardware and software environments and
architectures.
Develop and specify a solution
that meets customer needs in accordance with standards and
processes of TietoEnator.
Plan, develop and specify changes
of the existing servers.
 
2        
Solution Implementation and Maintenance
 
Implement the specified solutions and changes.
Maintain the existing servers.
 
3        
Processes and Standards
 
Ensure that all relevant Tieto processes and standards are used
throughout the server design and implementation.
Provide feedback on the processes used and provide
recommendations for improvements where appropriate.
 
4        
Technical Support
 
In service implementation projects, act as an expert and
provide project managers with technical support.
In continuous service, provide 2nd tier support via
Service Desk.
 
5        
Relationships, Collaboration and Communications
 
Establish and maintain professional relationship network across
organization.
Maintain technical relationships with customers, other
specialists and service desk.
Report progress of the tasks to
project manager.
Provide relevant feedback on
individuals working on the project.
Work closely with customer
representatives, peers in global organization to ensure that
technical solutions meet customer needs, and project
deadlines.
Communicate in English and
Russian in spoken and written, interpret and translate from one
language to another when needed.
 
Requirements 
Education 
At least Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and relevant
extensive experience.
Microsoft MCSE certification. 
Technical skills 
Technologies: Server HW, OS: Windows, Unix, Linux, Vmware, SAN
(HP EVA)
Experience with HP server and SAN systems.
Design and planning, installation and configuration,
maintenance and change 
Duration of experience 
At least 3 years of experience at a similar
position.
