Technical Lead, Symmetrix research development group

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as technical and project leader for team of 4-5
people.
Serve as major contributor towards team goals
Reports status, highlights issues and
concerns
The design and analysis of algorithms.
Collaboration with the US team regarding advanced
development.
The development and verification of software tools for
performance measurements, management, and planning.
Performing studies on the behavior of various
applications and the use patterns of Symmetrix, and use this
information to guide the development of new Symmetrix
algorithms.
Performing general research activities, as needed, with
an aim to improve the overall performance and function of Symmetrix
and the satisfaction of its customers.
Researching new software and hardware technologies, and
help in their integration to Symmetrix.
Projects may include:
Analyzing and improving the algorithm we have developed
to predict hit ratios without full simulation
Analyzing various methods to do prefetch, not necessarily
based on sequentiality
Evaluating various methods to find optimal parameters
setups to satisfy targeted performance
Analyzing protocols inside Symmetrix (When you really
need a lock and when you don't)
Skills:
Technical Leadership of small teams and ability to
coordinate with management.
Good English (verbal and written).
Candidates should have a background in math, physics or
computer science and solid experience in programming.
Demonstrated ability to develop complex software
solutions.
Understanding of business environment.
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver software in
a small technical group environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with
ability to resolve conflicting requirements.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred;
Phd a strong asset.
